Audits, issues and statements

Get an audit

You can get an audit from a number of different providers. You can also get an internal audit.

Start to plan for your audit during alpha. You will need to ensure that sufficient time, resource and cost have been planned into delivery.

This will give you time to have an audit, update your accessibility statement and resolve any issues before users start to use your product or website.

Internal-facing products

If your product or website is internal-facing, for example WorkDay or a DfE SharePoint site, email the Business Engagement and Accessibility Team.

External-facing products

Submit an audit request to DesignOps. The team will aim to respond to requests within 5 working days.

They will help you to:

  • understand what type of audit you need
  • plan your audit timeline
  • prepare the right information for auditors
  • find the right audit provider

How to procure an external audit

After you have spoken to DesignOps to understand what type of audit you need, you can contact Zoonou, DfE's accessibility audit supplier.

Email the contract manager for Zoonou, Mitchell Jones, at mitchell.jones@education.gov.uk, to arrange an audit.

Alternatively, you can follow the three or more quotes process (opens DfE intranet in new tab).

We still advise that you contact DesignOps before procuring your audit to ensure an external audit is appropriate for your service.
