Partially compliant accessibility statement template
Read the guidance for meeting the DfE accessibility statement standard to ensure your product or website is legally compliant.
Template
To add the partially compliant accessibility statement to your website, we have provided HTML code for you to use. You should personalise it for your service by replacing the content in square brackets, for example:
Replace [name of the service]
with the name of the website the statement is for.
Things to be aware of
For partially compliant websites, you must list all known accessibility issues in the statement. Read about how to manage accessibility issues in your products.
You must also ensure you are applying disproportionate burden correctly.

This website is run by the Department for Education. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet (opens in a new tab) has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
